modernization of an old lamp?
I have this lamp that I would like a makeover. It is six feet tall and silver-framed left pole. I just moved into an apartment and the subject of my living room is something of a pub / cigar room type of feel. I have a couple of pool tables and bowling and signs will be adding more things in stride. I'm thinking of spray painting the black smoke, but do not know what to do with the "mate" light plastic bowl ( "shadow"). Is there any technique to get a look of marble with glass heat resistant paint on plastic? Any other ideas also be appreciated. And what kind of pictures I put in the lamp? Tavern personal or otherwise as they are? Thank you!
For images I would take a few digital photos of the common themes found in a tavern. As a close-up of space for the three billiard balls when they have created to all who touch each other. Fill a pitcher of beer or soda and make a close-up of the drink looking down into the cup. Use your imagination to the subjects of photos. By Shadow Gallery I would use glass and create an appearance of stained glass in the shade. Most pubs have stained glass shades hang over the tables or desks billiards. Google gallery of glass and you will see the variety of patterns that you can do. You can buy the paints and materials in most craft stores. Spray painting lamp black sounds like a great idea on the road. Good Luck
